The Three Year Old Program |
|
The morning three year old children come to school on Wednesday and Friday. The class meets from 9 am to 11:30am. The afternoon three and four year old class meets on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 12:15pm to 2:45pm.
As this may be your child’s first experience in a school setting, we try to make it as secure and enjoyable as possible. This will hopefully ease the necessary transition from home to the outside world. Social interaction through play is emphasized.
Each day your child will be able to choose from a variety of activities designed to foster independence and a positive self-image. Quiet discussions in the book corner are a daily occurrence as are music, art activities, snack time, and outdoor play. The loft, kitchen, building blocks, and outdoor climbing tower provide lots of opportunity for large muscle development.
Our flexible perspective allows for the program to be modified and expanded to meet the needs of the three year old child.

The Four Year Old Program |
|
The four year old children attend school on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The morning session is from 9:00am to 11:30am and the afternoon three and four year old session is from 12:15pm to 2:45pm.
The purpose of the program is to encourage personality development through individual and group activities. This is achieved by providing time for play and social interaction.
Under the skillful guidance of teachers, your child is free to choose from many activities. Planning and preparation of snack is a favorite activity as are the woodworking, art and the manipulative centers. These are designed to foster the development of fine motor and perceptual skills, as well as creative exploration. The loft, kitchen corner, building blocks and outdoor climbing tower provide lots of experience for large muscle development.
Field trips are planned to help satisfy the four year old’s love of exploring. Walks through town are often planned, as are other stimulating trips. On longer trips, we offer the opportunity to ride on the school bus. This is an especially good experience for children who are getting ready to attend kindergarten.
The diverse and changing needs of the four year old are constantly being evaluated by the staff to provide your child with enjoyable and stimulating pre-school experiences.

The Enrichment Program |
|
A one day Enrichment program is available in conjunction with the four year old classes. We continue to encourage individual and group activities through play, planned activities and social interaction. Emphasis will be placed on developing organizational, listening, comprehension, and sequencing skills. Basic math, science, writing and reading readiness concepts shall be explored.
Each child is actively involved in a “hands on” approach. We plan and develop the thematic curriculum with the children. In this manner, the focus is on the children’s interests. Many field trips and special activities are planned and enjoyed by the class. The class will meet on Wednesdays from 12:15pm to 2:45pm.
