OBJECTIVES OF THE VILLAGE PRE-SCHOOL
- Provide frequent, positive, and warm interactions between a highly qualified teaching staff and children.
- Provide pre-school children with experiences designed to develop learning responsiveness and communication skills through fostering listening skills and speaking vocabulary.
- Help the pre-school child develop positive attitudes towards school as he relates to sympathetic and dependable adults in an environment that is conducive to success.
- Provide all types of materials designed to promote creative expression in art, music, literature and physical activities.
- Help the child gain an understanding of his immediate community and the world about him through firsthand and various experiences.
- Provide good health habits and develop motor and manipulative skills.
- Stimulate the child to be curious, to explore, and to question.
- Help the child learn self-control and grow in independence and responsibility.
- Provide some background for adequacy in social situations and developing happy qualities, i.e., fun, humor, and healthy optimism.
- Communicating with parents in the understanding of their child’s emotional and physical needs. The fulfillment of these needs increases a child’s chances of success in school. Parents are welcome visitors at all times.
